Balance
& steadiness

Hold a one-leg stand while your phone's motion sensor reads how much you sway. We record how long you hold (up to 45 seconds) as the main signal; the sway read-out is a bonus. Smartphone accelerometers track single-leg postural sway well in validation studies.

Stand beside a wall, rail, or sturdy chair. Touch it the instant you feel unsteady — that ends the rep, and that is exactly what we time. Never test near stairs, hard edges, or on a slippery floor.

Set up

Stand beside a sturdy counter or rail with support within reach. Hold the phone flat against your chest with one hand, or slip it in a chest/shirt pocket. Wear supportive, non-slip shoes (if you have numbness in your feet or foot problems, keep shoes on). This is an eyes-open test only.

For safety, this wellness tracker uses eyes-open balance only. Eyes-closed standing balance is not included. Keep sturdy support within reach and stop if you feel unsteady, dizzy, or faint.
45.0
Lift one foot, then tap start. Tap "I touched down" the moment you steady yourself.

Manual entry

Prefer to time it yourself, or motion sensor blocked? Enter how many seconds you held a one-leg stand (max 45).
