Readiness & Safety Check

This screen selects a conservative practice lane. It cannot diagnose a condition, determine medical safety, or clear you for breath-holding. When uncertain, choose no-hold practice and speak with a clinician.

1. Are you having any urgent symptoms right now?
Chest pain or pressure · fainting or near-fainting · severe or unusual shortness of breath · blue/gray lips · confusion · a new severe or irregular heartbeat sensation.
2. Do any clinician-first considerations apply?
Pregnancy · uncontrolled high blood pressure · significant heart or lung disease · epilepsy/seizure disorder · history of fainting · sickle-cell disease · recent major surgery · suspected untreated sleep apnea · panic provoked by air hunger · a clinician restriction.
3. Does attention to breathing ever make you dizzy, panicky, or unusually short of breath?
4. Can you breathe comfortably through your nose right now?

Stop any session that causes dizziness, visual changes, faintness, chest pain, palpitations, wheezing, confusion, panic, or loss of coordination. Never hyperventilate before a hold and never practise holds in water, while driving, standing, walking, or using machinery. Keep prescribed medication, inhalers, CPAP, and other treatment unchanged unless your clinician directs otherwise. © 2026 Ken Hoyer / Body Plus Fitness.
