Optional Seated Comfort Pauses

This replaces the automatic escalating “CO₂ table.” Each pause is self-ended at mild air hunger, followed by full quiet recovery. It is optional, method-derived, and not required to complete the 28-day program.

Sit down. Breathe normally; do not take preparatory deep breaths. After a normal exhale, end the pause at the first mild urge. The app automatically ends any pause at 30 seconds because this is practice, not a test.

Safety & method notes

Comfort-pause tables are taught in Buteyko and Oxygen Advantage traditions, but evidence for broad health or performance benefits is limited. This tool does not prescribe a percentage of BOLT, escalate holds automatically, or promise chemoreceptor retraining. Never hyperventilate first and never practise in water, while driving, standing, walking, or using machinery. © 2026 Ken Hoyer / Body Plus Fitness.
