3 A.M. Night-Wake Reset

Awake, hot, or wired in the small hours? Don’t fight it. Follow these calm steps — your only job is to settle, not to force sleep.

Step 1 of 4 · Cool
❄️
Cool down first

If you’re hot, shed a layer, sip some water, let some air reach your skin. A night sweat passes faster than it feels. Give it a moment.

Step 2 of 4 · Let go
🕐
Turn the clock away

Don’t check the time or do the “hours left” math — it only winds you up. Nothing needs solving right now. This is rest time, not problem-solving time.

Step 3 of 4 · Breathe
Breathe
In for 4…

Follow the circle. In through the nose for 4, slow out for 6. Let the out-breath be long and soft. We’ll do a few rounds.

Step 4 of 4 · Still awake?
🌑
Awake 20+ minutes?

If you’re still wide awake and alert, get up. Go to another room, keep the lights low, and do something calm and dull until sleepiness returns — then come back to bed. Staying in bed frustrated only teaches your brain that bed means awake.

Play a sleep sound

This is a calming tool, not medical care. If you have chest pain, trouble breathing, or feel unwell, seek medical help. Frequent hot, wired wake-ups are common in menopause — but if sleep keeps worsening, or you snore loudly / have been told you stop breathing in your sleep, ask your clinician about a sleep evaluation.
